Terms and Conditions

General Membership Terms:
The following terms apply to all purchases you make from us:
  • The term ‘Membership’ refers to the arrangement between you and us (The National Magazine Company Limited, trading as Hearst UK) for you to receive specific services or products from us regularly as part of the digital membership comprising access to the Made Club, which includes benefits, rewards and exclusive content communicated by us to you, in consideration for you paying us in advance for such arrangement.
  • You can find everything you need to know about us, Hearst UK, and our products on our website before you order. We also confirm the key information to you in writing after you order.
  • You must be 18 years of age or over to purchase a Membership.
  • Geographical restrictions may apply to your Membership. This will be stated within the purchase journey if applicable.
  • Our acceptance of your Membership order will take place when we email you to accept it, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and us.
  • If you’ve supplied a valid email address, your order will be acknowledged via email within 48 hours with a confirmation of your start issue.
  • Any costs of delivery (if applicable) will be as displayed to you on our website.
  • If supply to you of any components of the Membership is delayed by an event outside our control, we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and do what we can to reduce the delay. As long as we do this, we won’t compensate you for the delay.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your username, password and other credentials (your “Credentials”) that you will be asked to create to access the membership, its features, or portions thereof. We are not responsible for any misuse of your Credentials by any third party, whether authorized by you or not. You agree to immediately notify Hearst of any actual or suspected unauthorized use of your Credentials or any other breach of security. We are not responsible or liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized use of your Credentials or for your failure to follow the requirements set out in this Agreement.
Membership features may include:
  • Membership features: If you’ve purchased a membership and created an account at point of sign up, you will have immediate access to all exclusive member features, which might include content, videos, plans, offers and more.
  • Newsletter: The Membership you purchase may include a newsletter(s). You will be informed of any newsletters that are part of your Membership during your purchase journey. Should you wish to stop receiving any newsletter you can do so at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link contained within the email.
  • Gifts with purchase or products purchased as part of the Membership (“Product(s)”): Free gifts only apply whilst stocks last. If your Membership includes a Product, we ask customers to allow up to 28 days of the first successful applicable payment (if any) for delivery. Unless otherwise specified when you purchase a Membership, Products are sent to the billing address of the payer, to a UK address only. Hearst UK reserves the right to amend or terminate an order and/or request the return of Products in cases of suspected breach by you of these terms. If you change your mind and cancel your Membership order before you receive any of the products or services, but you have already received the Product or it has been dispatched to you, you must return the Product to us at your own cost.
  • Digital subscriptions: The Membership you purchase may allow you to redeem an offer in relations to a digital subscription to one of our publications. Payments, Renewals, Changes and Cancellations
  • Options setting out applicable Membership payment schedules, pricing and lengths will be displayed to you as part of your purchase journey. You will be able to select the option you wish to purchase during the purchase journey.
  • An initial payment for your chosen option will be taken via Stripe. 
  • Stripe payments will automatically renew according to the specified payment schedule applicable to the Membership that you purchased.
  • If you have newly purchased a Membership and changed your mind, you can cancel within 14 days by contacting our customer service team at madeclub@hearst.co.uk. We will refund you within 14 days of you telling us you’ve changed your mind. We refund you by the method you used for payment. If you have received a Product, or your Product has already been dispatched, you forfeit your right to a refund until you have returned the Product to us, unopened and unused.
  • Please note, if you cancel following the 14 days period described above, Memberships will only be cancelled going forwards from your next payment date and cancellations will not be retroactive, so be sure to contact us at least 28 days before your next payment is due so that we can process your cancellation in a timely manner.
  • During your Membership term we reserve the right to amend the payment schedule, price or length of the Membership. We will notify you of any such changes to your Membership prior to changes coming into effect, either by email or by post.
  • We reserve our right to end our contract with you and stop providing the Membership if (a) you don't make payment to us for your Membership when it's due and you continue not to make payment for 14 days following our reminding you that payment is due; or (b) you don't, within a reasonable time of us asking for it, provide us with information, cooperation or access that we need to provide the Membership to you.
  • Please note that when you cancel your Membership within the periods described above, your access to our services will stop and you will be required to forfeit any Membership benefits that you have received, including sign-up offers, vouchers or any other benefits connected to your Membership.
  • We can change a Membership offering (a) to reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements; (b) to implement minor technical improvements and adjustments, for example to address a security threat or; (c) to update digital content provided that the description of the digital content substantially matches the description of it that we provided to you before you bought it.
  • Otherwise, we may change your Membership entitlements at any time with 30 days’ notice and you may cancel your Membership within this notice period.
  • We can suspend the supply of a Product to (a) deal with technical problems or make minor technical changes; (b) deal with circumstances outside our control; (c) protect the interests of innocent third parties; (d) update the Product to reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements; or (e) make enhancements to the product. We will contact you in advance to tell you we’re suspending supply, unless the problem is urgent or an emergency.
These terms and conditions are governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes (whether contractual or non-contractual) in relation to these terms and conditions.
Code of Conduct
Made Club is designed to be a community where our members feel safe to have fun and connect in a welcoming environment. Please ensure that this is respected by adhering to our code of conduct, which is applicable to all our events, whether in person or online.
Respect
Please ensure that you treat all members, staff, and any other event attendees with respect. Any form of discrimination, harassment, or abusive or offensive behaviour will not be tolerated.
Civility
Please respect all those you encounter at a Made Club event by behaving in a civil and courteous manner. This includes avoiding loud or disruptive behaviour, using inappropriate language, and any form of verbal or physical abuse.
Responsibility
At any Made Club event, take responsibility for your actions and be mindful of the impact of your behaviour on others. Please note that we have a zero tolerance for substance abuse or the sharing of inappropriate or explicit content. We ask you to ensure that any content you produce, connections you make or conversations you have do not harm, defame or damage the Hearst UK brands in any way.
Behaviour
1. Drugs, substances and items
No member shall purchase, use, ingest, possess, sell or otherwise distribute illegal drugs or other substances, or attempt to do any of the same with any member or guest. The result of these actions will lead to termination of Membership.
2. Disclosing member and guest identity Made Club operates a strict non-disclosure policy of sharing details of any other member or guest, in the public domain, without their consent. This includes press and all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and personal blogs.
3. Treatment of property
Members shall not wilfully remove, damage or destroy any property at Made Club events. Members who remove, damage or destroy any property at Made Club events shall be fully liable in relation to any liability, loss, damages, costs and expenses claimed by Hearst UK or third parties (including the venue operator for such events) in relation to such removed, damaged or destroyed property. Hearst UK shall not be held liable for such third party liabilities, losses, damages, costs or expenses.
4. Guests
Members are not permitted to bring guests to events.
Disciplinary procedure
Membership review
Conduct by a member that is contrary to this Code of Conduct may result in suspension or expulsion of such member, at the sole discretion of Hearst UK. 
The process for disciplinary proceedings is as follows:
  • An incident involving a member or their guest(s) at a Made Club event, or in circumstances that may affect our members.
  • The membership team reviews the incident and sources witness statements.
  • The membership of the member(s) involved is paused while this investigation is happening.
  • Once all the facts have been reviewed, Hearst UK decides on a final decision.
  • This decision is communicated to the member(s) and they are either given a caution, or their membership is suspended or terminated.
In the event of any dispute arising as to the meaning or interpretation of these rules, the matter shall be referred to Hearst UK, who will decide on the status of a member's future use of Made Club Membership. This decision is final and without appeal.
Reporting Misconduct
  • Any member who observes or experiences any form of misconduct is encouraged to report it to a member of the Made Club team at madeclub@hearst.co.uk
  • All reports of misconduct will be investigated promptly and confidentially.
This code of conduct is governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes (whether contractual or non-contractual) in relation to these terms and conditions.
